Would You Believe These Chrismas Stories
A COUPLE OF CARDS WIN JONES, OF THORNTON, Leicestershire, has sent his friend the same card each Christmas for 44 years.
It carried a picture of a kilted Scot and the message: "Here's a bonny Christmas card, I hope ye will not lose it. I'll sign my name in pencil so next year ye can use it!"
In 1940 Win took the hint, stuck a halfpenny stamp on the envelope, and sent it to his old school chum Ernest Harris, a mile away in the village of Bagworth.
The following year it came back- and it has been going to and fro ever since. In recent years it has been delivered by hand - the potty pair consider it too valuable to post.
